Management Team

Mr. Sulamanidze has extensive banking experience gained while working in a variety of management positions for several Georgian banks. Before being promoted to the position of CEO, he served as Chief Operations Officer and was member of initial team of pre-opening office. Prior to Progress Bank, Mr. Sulamanidze spent three years at Bank Republic Societe Generale, where he started as Head of Credit Administration Department before becoming Deputy Crediting Director, Crediting Director and then Head of Corporate Banking and Manager of Strategic Projects. Before joining Bank Republic, he served as Head of Service Centre and as Head of several Credit Units for United Georgian Bank for three years.

Mr. Sulamanidze holds Master’s degree in Banking from Technical University and is cuurrently doing his PHD degree.

Mr. Kordzadze has four years of banking experience.He was member of Progress Bank's initial team of pre-opening office. Before joining Progress Bank, he served as Head of Accounting, Financial Analysis and Planning Department of Basisbank. Prior to becoming the Head of Department, he held  several financial analysis positions within bank.

Mr. Kordzadze holds Master’s degree in Finance from Tbilisi State University.

Mr. Levan Sbitnev has an extensive banking experience gained while working in a variety of management positions for several Georgian leading banks since 2004. Before being promoted to the position of CCO at Progress Bank, he served as head of one of the sectors of Corporate Department in Bank Republic. Also he was Branch Manager in the same bank during almost 3 years. Mr. Sbitnev successfully worked on such important positions as Senior Corporate Banker, SME Business Credit Manager during several years. He started his career in Procreditbank, where he served in credit unit of Saburtalo Branch.

Mr. Sbitnev holds Bachelor’s Degree in International Economic Relations from Tbilisi State University. He also holds Master’s degree in Business Administrations from ESM Business School (Free University of Tbilisi).
 

Ilia Ketchakmadze has the great work experience on leading positions in the bank sphere. His banking activity begins in “Binsotsbank”, where he held position of manager and during the years he led the Supervisory Board of “Tbilbusinessbank”. From 2000 - till 2007 yy  he was the financial director of Georgian-French company “Taroinvest”.

In 2007 he actively participated in foundation and opening of JSC “Progress Bank”. Since the same year he is the management team member of JSC “Progress Bank”, Chief Risk Management Officer, and from 2009 he holds position of vice-chairman of the Supervisory Board.

Ilia Ketchakmadze graduated Agricultural Institute of Tbilisi, he is economist by profession.
 

Mr. Kuprashvili is certified IT expert with nine years of experience in banking Information Technology. Prior to Progress Bank, he served as a Manager of Strategic Projects for Bank Republic Societe Generale, where his focus was on IT projects. Prior to that, he led the bank’s IT Department. Before Bank Republic, Mr. Kuprashvili served as the Head of IT Department for Basisbank. Earlier in his career he worked as a Programmer-Analyst for State Department of Statistics of Georgia.
 
Mr. Kuprashvili holds Bachelor’s degree in Automated Control Systems Engineering from Georgian Technical University and is ITIL certified IT expert.

Mr. Makarashvili has eight years of banking experience. Prior to Progress Bank, he served as a Head of Treasury Department for TaoPrivatBank. Before TaoPrivatBank, he spent six years with Intellectbank and he continued at Bank of Georgia. During that period, he served as a Manager of Correspondent Accounts, Head of Central Branch Operations Department, Head of Treasury Department, Head of Branch and Head of Bank of Georgia Service Centre.

Mr. Makarashvili holds Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Georgian Technical University.

Mr. Dvali is a lawyer with 10 years of professional experience. Prior to Progress Bank, he served as Lawyer and then – as Senior Lawyer for National Bank of Georgia (NBG), for 5 years. Before NBG, Mr. Dvali worked for state energy sector companies for five years. During that time served as a Lawyer for Sakenergo, as Chief Specialist of Contracts and Foreign Relations Department for Electrodispetcherizatsia 2000 and as Chief Specialist of Contracts Department for Georgian State Electric System.

Mr. Dvali holds Degree Diploma in International Law from Tbilisi State University.

Mr. Imedidze brings 11 years of accounting experience to his role at Progress Bank. He previously served as Financial Director for Nicke Construction Company. Before joining Nicke, Mr. Imedidze served as Chief Accountant for 7Sky Construction Company. Prior to 7Sky, he worked for VTB Bank (former United Georgian Bank) for eight years, starting as a Specialist in Accounting Department and later working as Head of Accounting Unit.

Mr. Imedidze holds Bachelor’s degree in Informatics for Engineering Economics from Tbilisi State University.

Ekaterine Machavariani is managing Centralized Back Office. Before  being  promoted to this position   she was managing First Service Center.Prior to Progress Bank, she served as Head of Avlabari Service Center (former Central Branch) of Basisbank. Before heading the Service Center, she served on different positions and in total spent 5 years working in Basisbank.

Ms. Machavariani holds Degree Diploma of Engineer from Georgian Technical University and Diploma in Economics from Tbilisi Institute of Banking and Finance.
